"Crack" Almond Crackers / Croutons
These are my go-to homemade crackers & crouton recipe! They are perfectly crisp plus have the seed-like texture that I love.
I originally made them as a flat bread, that turned into cracker variations, that I now also use as croutons! Best of all worlds :)
These are gluten-free, low carb, high protein, high fiber, high healthy fats, paleo, ketogenic, plant-based, and EASY!!
Makes: 12 - 15 crackers / large croutons
Time: 15 - 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup organic almond flour
- 1/4 cup flax meal
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- pink sea salt to taste (eyeball it!)
- 2 tbsp organic olive oil
- 2 tbsp filtered water
- dash of baking soda
- Optional: 1/2 - 1 tsp @bragglivefoods nutritional yeast (for seasoning)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil & lightly oil (I use coconut oil)
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix into dough (add more flour if too wet and water if too dry and crumbly)
- Lay dough flat like a flat bread onto the baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes or until browned & crisp! They should be easy to cut into squares with a knife.
Enjoy!!
